BIOMETRIC SECURITY
One Solution - Biometric Security
- Biometrics are automated methods of recognizing a person based on a physiological or behavioral characteristic
- Examples of biometrics using physical technology include:
- Retinal / iris scans
- Handwriting / voice
- Fingerprint / hand geometry (most common)
- Biometric-based security provides unique, positive identification with an extremely high level of confidence
- Current applications include network security, secure electronic banking, government IDs and healthcare
Traditional Biometric Concerns
- Traditional biometric solutions are based on storing an image or exact replica of the physiological or behavioral
characteristic
- Requires significant data capacity and security systems for biometric data storage
- Data security concerns limit ability to deploy biometric security solutions in more "public" environments
in a cost effective manner
- Challenge - How to get benefits of biometric security without the high cost in infrastructure and the risk
of data compromise?
Hawk Systems Solution
- Patented technology that preserves benefits of biometric screening without the costs and data security risks
- Accurate, reliable and fast imaging for improved security, authentication and convenience
- Smallest form factor that can support any electronic device
- Versatility that enables The Power of Touch
- Documented field test performance*
- Abrasion test - up to 1,320,000 repetitions
- Impact test - up to 41,000 PSI
- Thermal test - -40oF to 185oF
- Accuracy test - 99.987%
5 Layers Deep
Unlike a traditional fingerprint image, where the external surface of the finger's ridges are captured in their
entirety, the PASS sensor actually reads down five epidural layers, making the actual surface print incidental
to the technology's accuracy, which currently runs at 99.92% accuracy. With PASS in place, it is not possible
for identity thieves to create fake fingerprints or "steal" the finger and use it to gain access to a
vehicle, office, building or credit card.
